bUsiNEss ENERGY sERviCEs Gasum’s energy services include natural gas based energy solutions, such as sales of heat and gas appliances, installations, maintenance and servicing. Heat service product development progressed well, and several new heat supply agreements will commence in 2010. in the next few years the focus of our energy services will be on the development of more and more energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly customer solutions. Gasum has already launched a solar heat product that enables the utilisation of energy produced by solar collectors alongside natural gas heating. The latest condensing boiler technology takes the efficiency of natural gas heating up to 109%, making it the most efficient heating solution in the market. Gasum Paikallisjakelu Oy is also looking into the possibility of introducing a realtime remote-read gas metering system. households and businesses in eight areas around finland. Gasum has already studied the gas usage potential in these municipalities. Gasum aims to construct a network of around 30 stations covering the areas of finland with access to the natural gas network within the next few years. Gasum has set the target of offering motorists with NGvs access to biogas, a renewable domestic fuel, in 2011. Once the biogas potential of the natural gas network catchment area, particularly public transport in the Helsinki metropolitan Area, is efficiently utilised, Gasum can become a major contributor towards the 10% target set for renewables in transport. Gasum is cooperating closely with NGv sales and import organisations to promote NGvs. The year under review saw several events targeted at professional motorists presenting the features and low operating costs of NGvs. motorists have also expressed interest in NGv conversion kits for petrolfuelled cars, with the number of NGvs also increased because new installation service providers began operations in 2009.
